San Diego girls are now better prepared to defend themselves during an assault or attempted kidnapping thanks to a free class.

The national non-profit group, Just Yell Fire offered a 2-hour workshop in Pacific Beach. The session stressed safety, street-fighting techniques and other strategies. Organizers say teenage girls face a 1 in 4 risk of sexual assault.
